Mark the Asian range (8:00 p.m. to midnight New York) on NQ and project its height above and below as 'standard deviation' levels. After midnight, fade a run on one side: sell limit at the Asian range high (buy limit at the Asian range low) with the stop one deviation beyond it and the target at a deviation level on the other side of the range, in the direction of a discretionary daily bias.
The exact rules we tested
- 01Instrument: NQ | Signal timeframe: 1h | Direction: both
- 02Session: 00:00-17:00 (exchange tz), positions may hold overnight
- 03At most 1 trade(s) per day
- 04Filter: [ar.high > 0] just became true this bar
- 05Entry: limit order resting at ar.low (longs) / ar.high (shorts), fills when price comes to it (expires after 17 bars)
- 06Stop: at the sd1_dn (longs) / sd1_up (shorts) level
- 07Target: level: sd1_up (longs) / sd1_dn (shorts)
- 08Where ar_size = ar.high minus ar.low
- 09Where sd1_up = ar.high plus ar_size
- 10Where sd1_dn = ar.low minus ar_size
- 11Where ar_size2 = ar_size times 2
- 12Where sd2_up = ar.high plus ar_size2
- 13Where sd2_dn = ar.low minus ar_size2
